Mr.Powe was a former math teacher at James Logan High School in Union City California. He was supportive, kind, and a mentor to countless students. Mr.Powe was also an activist. He was willing to fight against injustice and make social change at Logan.  His commitment to making positive change at Logan was met with opposition from the school administration. The school administration disliked Powe's eagerness to find solutions to problems that they themselves had failed to solve.  The administration then turned more aggressive in their tactics to discourage Mr.Powe from continuing his activism. He was soon put on a temporary contract after being at odds with the administration for months. Powe also became targeted when only one student had complained about receiving an F on one of her exams. Her parents then contacted the school and tried to question Powe's teaching ability. The administration soon grew tried of Powe and gave him an ultimatum resign or become terminated. Under threat of termination, Mr.Powe resigned. We the students of James Logan High School are demanding that Mr.Powe be allowed to be reinstated as a teacher at Logan without the fear of retaliation against him or termination. We also demand that Logan stop ignoring racism and other social issues that take place on campus. This movement is not just about Mr.Powe, he has triggered a revolution for social change.
