New England Primate Research Center: Relocate the monkeys to sanctuaries when the NEPRC closes
The monkeys at the New England Primate Research Center have endured invasive experiments and testing and been confined to cages. The Center was put on probation in 2012 and has been cited for Animal Welfare Act violations by the United States Department of Agriculture. Four monkeys have died at the NEPRC since 2010 due to their treatment of these animals. It is time to let these monkeys live their lives with companionship, safety and the ability to engage in some of their natural behaviors at a sanctuary.
As the NEPRC is shut down, the research facility plans to relocate the close to 2,000 monkeys to other research labs where they will be forced to endure more pain, fear and isolation. Please ensure that these monkeys will be able to live out the rest of their lives in peace by retiring them to sanctuaries.
