Plastic is present everywhere we look, everywhere we go and in everything we buy. Shopping bags, straws, bottles, coffee cups, disposable cutlery and many other countless articles. About 368 million metric tonnes of plastic is produced each year globally and about 50% of it is single use plastic. This immense amount of plastic can take anywhere from 20 to a 1000 years to decompose.

The only way a common person knows how to get rid of plastic is to throw it without segregating, throw it in the ocean, on the roads and/or burn it. But this in turn isn't helping the situation. Rather it is reducing its chance to be recycled and also giving rise to air, land and water pollution. This is also causing harm to many marine animals, land animals and us humans by entering our bodies through our bloodstreams.
