As the more contagious new strand of COVID-19, the Delta Variant, rages through our society, schools need to implement an online education option for students who are either not vaccinated or at risk of being infected. 
The Delta Variant can break through a normal vaccine, it’s twice as contagious than the normal COVID-19 strand (even more contagious than Polio), and is spreading extremely rapidly across the country. 
All of the districts surround NCISD are offering that online option, but NCISD is not. Cases are rising, and are not slowing down. Less than a quarter of students at the district’s high schools are wearing masks, and barely any teachers are. Elementary students and some middle school students are not old enough to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and they are forced to attend school in-person, which can be catastrophic. This isn’t a fight over politics, this is a true, science-based health issue, and it needs to be addressed effective immediately.
