Black History Classes for Moncton man inciting racial hatred during BLM peaceful event.

Black History Classes for Moncton man inciting racial hatred during BLM peaceful event.
Why this petition matters

As a response to the United States current situation after George Floyd's murder, Moncton citizens organized a peaceful event to honour George Floyd and to bring awareness to the barriers and racism that black people still experience in our local communities. During the event, a 47 year old man yelled profanity and racial slurs to the participants. A video of this was recorded and shared on social media. He was arrested and facing charges. Although we all agree that our Educational Systems need to include more Black History into the educational curriculum to help prevent this type of violence- we feel at this time that this man facing charges should dedicate time and commitment to learning about Black History as part of his rehabilitation process.
Current New Brunswick residents are negotiating with Moncton Police to enforce the classes for this citizen. Please sign the petitition if you feel this man should have to take Black History Classes as part of his rehabilitation process.
