There are tons of families ripped apart because of loved one being in prison. Studies have proven that the states with family visitation have lower divorce rates among inmates and families stay together. It has also proven that if the inmates have something like this to look forward to there are less fights, less drug use because they know they could loose the chance to see there wives and children.

Children who are able to have this extra time with their father's and mother's are happier and are likely not to repeat the mistakes that their parents made and not end up in prison. 

Like I mentioned before husbands and wife's are more likely to stay together through this hard period of their marriages. The studies have shown that for a marriage to last there needs to be contact something more then a small kiss and a hug that only lasts a few seconds.

I like many other's who have loved ones would love the opportunity to see my loved one and would be willing to do anything for that opportunity. Especially for the ones who have to drive a very long time to visit our loved one. For me it is a 6 and a half hour drive.

I also know from talking to my husband that the inmates have said they would do anything for this opportunity to have the extended time with their families.

I ask for you to sign this not for the people in prison but on behalf of all the families who are affected that really want to spend more then a few hours once a month or every couple of months depending on the distance they have to travel.
