Senator Pat Spearman: Please Run for Rep. Kihuen's Seat & lead Congress in #MeToo movement

During the 2017 Nevada legislative session, I worked with you, Senator Pat Spearman, on bills to assist victims of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and to provide a safe place for victims of sexual harrassment within the legislature to come forward and report their stories. As a result of your and Senator Aaron Ford's hardwork, compassion, and dedication, almost 60 people participated in a third party investigation which led to the resignation of an abusive state senator.
Shortly after, a national movement started, #MeToo, which gives victims of sexual violence a platform and community to express their own experiences of abuse. This has lead to hundreds if not thousands of abusers being called out for their actions, including elected officals on the federal level.
One of these individuals is Nevada's Congressman Ruben Kihuen, who has been accused of sexual harrassment, with documented proof, by two separate women he had authority and professional influence over. While Kihuen is not the only Congressman who's abuse has recently come to light, he is Nevada's.
The best thing for our state and country would be an empowered woman with a strong background in fighting for abused women and vulnerable populations, who represents many marginalized populations of our country herself, including African Americans, LGTBQs, and Veterans, and has been a national leader in the quest for women's equality with the ratification of the ERA after thirty years, to be elected to represent Nevada's 4th Congressional District.
For these reasons and many more, I and those signed below, are asking for you to run for Congress. We trust you, we believe in you, and we will do everything we can to support your Congressional campaign.
