Claire Stephenson started this petition to Network West Midlands

Network West Midlands is the main public transport provider in the city of Birmingham. For mums like myself, getting the bus is how we can get around in the day. Not many of us have access to cars, and the bus is far more convenient in terms of transporting babies and small children around - no need to fuss with parking, baby can stay nearby, leaving mums with their undivided attention solely on their little ones and not on the road.

Since my daughter has been born, I've lost count of how many buses I've not been able to get on due to the two available pushchair spaces being occupied already by other mothers. The driver usually either brushes or off or tells me to fold my large, clearly unfoldable pushchair down. I've had to walk home in both the blistering heat and currently chilly weather with a tired, hungry baby who should have been home half an hour previously.

The fact is, there are a lot of mums in similar circumstances as me. And frankly, when certain services are running unreliably even in the day, it is ridiculous to expect only two pushchairs, buggies or prams on a bus at a time.

Network West Midlands have been able to implement wifi and USB charging ports on their buses. Would it be impossible to add a few more spaces for buggies that could be also used when there are no buggies on the bus?

I have made this same complaint a few times on social media only to be fobbed off a few times more. Network West Midlands need to see there is a demand for this.

(I'm currently writing this while cold in a bus stop as I've not been able to get on two buses so far.)
