Newtown Road/Woolston Road on the way to Netley Abbey is currently a 40mph road and unfortunately, people often exceed the limit. With large increase of the New build houses in Netley Abbey (especially at the corner of Grange Road and Woolston Road crossroad) and growing community with more new build houses being on the way at the Grange Road, the speed limit is not safe for the community trying to go to work using the crossroad of Woolston Road and Grange Road for that reason. There has been a lot of incidents, including the last major accident with the car ending up in neighbouring garden, that it’s clear, something needs to be done and the proposal is to convert the crossroad to the roundabout and reduction the speed limit of Woolston Road to 30mph to create safer way of commuting for local residents and all people visiting Netley Abbey Village.

Roundabout and 30mph would be a far safer and more suitable way of using speed this road and the undersigned ask Hampshire County Council to implement the changes.
