Your 2017 film, Gerald’s Game, demonizes patients with this disease by associating the condition with a serial killer. You have made profits by creating entertainment from a condition that causes intense suffering of human beings with this condition. You have added to the suffering of people who already suffer from the disease by suggesting in your film that the disease has somehow created a serial killer.
What can you do to help make it right? 1) Apologize to the community of patients, many of whom are members of the Acromegaly Support Group on Facebook. 2) Donate some of the profits you made from your film to a reputable foundation to help those of us with the condition. We can discuss details of 2) when you are ready.
