Sign this petition requesting that Netflix pulls the Strip Down; Rise Up documentary. This documentary is using the traumatic experiences of the women involved to perpetuate harmful stereotypes of the pole industry, and is an inaccurate representation of those involved with this industry. The documentary showcases S-Factor methodology and promotes the harmful exercises Sheila Kelley puts her students through. Additionally Sheila K. Is a known abuser to her staff and is a known racist- which gave way to the documentary tokenizing the women of color that are involved. We as an industry and a community, feel that this portrayal of "trauma porn" to describe the industry is not only inaccurate but harmful and dangerous-- the documentary should have a trigger warning for viewers but the production team clearly did not even consider the harm that this process would cause its participants, let alone its viewers.
