"Many a true word is spoken in jest." History shows that some of Americas greatest comedians e.g., George Carlin or Paul Mooney, have used the art of comedy as a medium to not only make audiences laugh, but to also make them think about truths that are sometimes hard truths. Dave Chappelle, being one of Americas greatest comedians, is known for presenting some hard truths in jest.

What America is facing in this time of cancel culture, is the inability of many Americans to deal with being confronted by hard & sometimes ugly truths. So much so, that many are willing to completely sweep historical truths under the rug in favor of protecting their own fragilities. We see this with recent attacks on "CRT" by neo-Confederates & Chappelle exposes this problem in the hypocrisy of those willing to permit the career advancement of an individual who shoots a "nigga" but will try to cancel that same persons career if he says something which may have hurt a gay persons feelings. The very fact that members of the LGBT community are trying to have Chappelle's special pulled for even saying this, actually proves what he said to be true. 

Dave Chappelle contracted with Netflix to produce & distribute his special, "The Closer." The right to enforce that contract should be protected under the 1866 Civil Rights Act and not subject to breach based on him exercising the freedom of speech mentioned in the 1st Amendment. Let us never forget that black Freedmen fought to bring into existence the very civil rights that all other groups in America are now able to access, even as they attempt to use it against black Americans.
