Netflix's current streaming video parental control settings allow you to make one choice over what content to block for all devices you may be streaming Netflix from. Why this is a problem is because the same parental controls that apply for young children are the same controls we have to abide by as adults in terms of the content anyone on one account is allowed to watch. Each parental control change can take up to 8 hrs to take effect so there is no spontaneity in watching an age appropriate movie as an adult if I have parental controls set for my children. After calling Netflix today, the most logical option that they could come up with was for me to purchase a separate Netflix subscription to access my content on and use the other subscription with the blocked content for the children in my household. It makes more sense that Netflix institute a parental lock password feature that allows us to override any parental controls instantly.
