Add the Lifeline & Suicide Call Back Service Phone Numbers to 13 Reasons Why

Netflix has stated that their new series, "13 Reasons Why,” aims to show that actions have consequences. We believe the series provides an opportunity to change the conversation around suicide by providing resources for individuals in crisis and demonstrating how actions can have a positive impact on those that may be thinking about suicide.
We are petitioning Netflix to add both phone numbers for Lifeline (13 11 14) and the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467) before or after each episode for Australian audiences.
Suicide is the leading cause of death for 15 to 44 year olds in Australia, and for every suicide there are at least 20 other individuals who attempt. By raising awareness about mental health and suicide, we not only create a topic of conversation, but let those who feel like they are alone know that there are people they can reach out to. The stigma surrounding suicide and mental health needs to be completely eradicated and this will only happen when it isn't seen as a taboo topic. Many people are too afraid to speak out and by providing Australian telephone numbers for crisis lines that are trained to help those who are suicidal or expressing suicidal ideation is of paramount importance. This is an issue which should be a national priority.
