Suspension of face to face lessons at NESCOL college Aberdeen to match Aberdeen University
Why this petition matters
Aberdeen University has suspended all face to face lessons in light of the covid 19 outbreak.
The suspension came into effect on all campuses across the city from 6pm last night and will have a wide-reaching impact.
An email sent out by the university outlined that the health and safety of students and staff was of of upmost importance, “which is why the University is escalating its efforts to mitigate the consequences of Coronavirus COVID-19″.
Those efforts include, but are not limited to, suspending lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes, seminars and computer lab sessions.
The university will remain open and continue to deliver learning and teaching where possible and undertake other activities.
We ask as Nescol college students that we are afforded the same protection and our college embark now in online learning cancelling face to face lessons during this critical period. We don’t want to be disease carriers and vessels home to our elderly parents or grandparents. We demand the same level of protection. Many students will feel frightened or deterred from reporting symptoms for fear of EMA allowance stopping or because our places on next years courses are going to be attendance related.
Shut the college now Slow the spread protect Students and staff
