With the current climate of things putting extreme stress on students across NSW, an immediate change to better the mental state of students is needed as soon as possible. The suggestion to remove the HSC entirely is absolutely unnecessary and will cause more harm than good. However, it is an attempt to do good for students and is almost a take in the right direction. The removal of the Biology and Earth and Environmental Studies HSC subjects are a loss that may result in fair controversy however ultimately is better for students as a whole. Both subjects are extremely content heavy, and the removal means students have less to worry about and can free enough mental capacity to do better in their remaining subjects. This is a betterment for both their mental well being, and will directly affect how well they do, in most cases, allowing them to do better.
