Due to the Covid-19 crisis, sitting for exams in the present situation is problematic for many. I request NERIST, MHRD and UGC to cancel the institute exams and grade the students on pro rata basis. 

Surely, we have our classes going on online, however, a lot of students do not even have their books/study material in their native places, and also they do not have a proper internet connection to avail any resources.

Online exams are not a viable option as many students reside in rural areas and do not have access to the internet. It may also lead to distorted results due to various reasons. 

Another factor to consider is that students are not in the mental or physical state to study and prepare for their exams during this pandemic and are very stressed about the situation as well as their health. 

We are all in tremendous anxiety and do not know when things will improve. Studying has become really difficult for us.

Taking all these factors into consideration, We think cancelling the exams and marking/graduating students on the basis of their quiz marks or internal assignments is the best option. 

This also ensures fair marking of students without any bias and will provide students with results on time and give them one less issue to worry about and also take away the stressful situation of their exams. 

Therefore we request the NERIST, MHRD, and UGC to instruct the institute to cancel the end-semester examinations as soon as possible, keeping in mind the future, as well as the health and safety of students.
