NEIU 2021 In Person Graduation Ceremony

NEIU 2021 In Person Graduation Ceremony
Why this petition matters
We've always worked tirelessly for the last four, maybe more, years to reach our end target. A graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and not being able to walk is incredibly discouraging. Northeastern Illinois University will hold a virtual Commencement for the May 2021 graduates. It won't be as rewarding as an online ceremony in which the recipient's name scrolls across the screen for a few seconds. In May 2021, UIC will hold an in-person graduation ceremony for class of 2020 and 2021. Participants will be divided into 15-minute time slots, will be able to bring two guests with them. NEIU can have students sign up for specific time slots so that there is enough room to maintain social distance. The majority of NEIU students are the first generation of their family to graduate. NEIU should have an in-person graduation ceremony for their students as a form of recognition for their achievements.
