Fair Funding for Schools in Gloucestershire
This petition had 1,857 supporters
The government has confirmed new funding for free schools, whilst all other state schools are having to make cuts. Gloucestershire is set to lose £29.6 million by 2019. This works out as £385 less per pupil and 795 fewer teachers across the county.
This crisis will lead to staff cuts, reduced provision for Special Educational Needs, larger classes, reduced subject options and extra curricular activities, ultimately damaging education in Gloucestershire.
We call on the Education Select Committee to ensure that school funding is distributed fairly.
