Hello All,

I'm not sure everyone has been notified but TEXDOT is proposing to change the direction of the service road along 287 to become a one-way road headed north toward Decatur. Once this happens then all the traffic, coming off Bates Ashton and the traffic coming from the Shell, will be incentivized to cut thru on Texan and our neighborhood to get back over to Avondale Rd. This is because the next turn around will be almost 3 miles north of our location. In addition, with the new housing development at the end of Bates Ashton, this neighborhood's closest access to the east bound 287 and shopping will be to cut through Bates Ashton and Haslet Height.

Hadi (the owner of the Shell) has contacted me and he is concerned about his traffic and also about the traffic which will then push through our neighborhood. He is asking all in the area to meet and join a petition in an effort to stop TEXDOT from making the service road a 1 way. He is offering to pay for the attorney and all costs associated with fighting this effort but is asking us to join in making a statement and contest this change in traffic.

I'm calling a meeting of the Haslet Height homeowners to Hadi's offices at (13340 HWY 287) this Friday, November 1st @ 7pm to get information on the proposal, hear from Hadi and his attorney, and a petition available to sign. This is the new stucco, 2-story building at the storage center by Bates Ashton & 287.

THIS IS URGENT - the public meeting with TEXDOT is scheduled for November 7th from 6-8pm and will be at LifePoint Fellowship Church.

We will need to actively participate as a neighborhood and get involved with this petition if we want to try and stop this from happening. Hadi has already spoken with the Bates Ashton HOA but please contact all your neighbors and let them know.
