Ducks tend to be quieter, cleaner, friendlier and hardier than chickens. Unfortunately chickens and pot belly pigs are allowed as pets, but ducks are not within Bellevue city code. There is no apparent reason why this is so.

We believe they should be added to the list of animals allowed to be kept on private property as long as they are responsibly and humanely contained and taken care of. We intend to take this before the Bellevue city council to have the code amended.

As of now, ducks that are found on your property are forcibly removed by the city at owners expense. This is a major violation of property rights.
