I appreciate the attempt to liven Singaporeans' spirit during this gloomy season. But use that money to help those who have problem putting food on the table. There are enough hand sanitizers or thermometers, if given extra, to some household it will become hoarding.

This country did well because of our founding fathers' ability to understand humility, tolerance towards differences and the need to ensure we leave no one behind. As you can see from all the petitions signed and comments/sharing made, many Singaporeans continue to embrace these values at heart. Let's not throw them away just for the sake of ego and traditions. We need to keep the money to support those who are fighting and protecting nation, a fun-pack does nothing but add to social wastage at the end of the day.

This is resource that can be directed towards better use like providing additional monies for lower income families or destitute elderlies during this challenging time of Covid 19.

We are a pragmatic nation.

The government needs to understand that Singaporeans do not need trivialities like fun packs just to celebrate National Day.

Such use of resources casts doubts in the prioritisation use of resources... even though Singapore can afford such trivialities, it does not equate we have to indulge in frivolity.

If fun packs need to be ordered and distributed, I would suggest giving them ONLY to school children at school, then they could enjoy with their school mates at school.
