On Sunday, June 5th, after a 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the annual Cheese Roll race began in Gloucestershire, U.K.  As fate would have it, NC State graduate Abby Lampe ('22, Industrial and Systems Engineering) dominated the competition, once again proving "we know we are the best".  Details are still fuzzy on whether Abby had one hand behind her back, but she certainly "took on all the rest".  

Abby wasn't just coincidentally in England for this event.  No, just like the pure savage she is, she was in an entirely different country (Spain) and traveled to England simply to compete in this once-in-a-lifetime competition.  She ran, she fell, she tumbled, and she dominated.  

Now it's time that NC State honor this hero the way she deserves... with a championship banner hanging somewhere in the NCSU dining facilities.  As NCSU Dining's one-and-only national title, it would be a crime if this culinary-based achievement was not honored by one of NC State's proudest student athletes.
