Make First Aid Compulsory in Secondary Schools

We are a group of young people taking part in The Challenge by NCS. The lack of First Aid training and knowledge in schools and among young people has been brought to our attention during the social action part of the Challenge. By working with our community partner, St John's Ambulance, we have been learning the vital skills that simple First Aid training provides. We feel this is important for people of all ages, but not enough has been done to include this in the National Curriculum for all schools. First Aid can save lives. For example, during our time with the volunteers from St John's, they told us of a case where a four-year-old boy saved his little sisters life as a result of their nursery teaching simple First Aid practice. So by supporting us, you can help children and teenagers save a life.
