I'm not signing this petition, I just clicked on it to see what it said. How can an inanimate object be racist? It's a tribute to those that fought to defend their home from an invading army 150 years ago. Give it a rest people, most of you probably don't even know what's written on the other sides of this monument! If you are intimidated by an inanimate, stone monument, I feel sorry for you. And, if you're not an Onslow County resident, it shouldn't even concern you.

The monument should be moved to a more appropriate place like a Confederate museum perhaps.
