The NBN Co wants to place a 40 metre tower on land overshadowing our family's private bush sanctuary, as part of the national broadband network rollout.
Our neighbour has agreed to have the tower on the boundary of his property, in return for money - but the tower will only be visible from our home, not his.
Broadband towers emit high levels of radiation and are considered both an eyesore and a threat to health - although the NBN Co says the radiation is not high enough to be dangerous.
Our property is a beautiful bush sanctuary in the NSW Central West, featuring a cutting edge sustainable earth covered home that has been recognised nationally for its sensitivity to its environment and its unique energy efficient properties. It has been acknowledged as a leading example of sustainable lifestyle and is not on the grid - generating its own solar power and collecting its own water.
The 100 acre property is home to a wide variety of native animals and has been painstakingly regenerated over 30 years by my family. It is also a food source for the family, with an organic garden and orchard.
A massive broadband tower pulsing high levels of radiation over the valley to Mt Panorama, would be both a visual blight on the property, and a health threat to our family - including our elderly mother who resides there and the generations of our family who live there for years to come.
By signing this petition, you can support our right to NOT have a broadband tower on - or near - our private bush sanctuary AND support everyone's right to say no to such infrastructure on or near, their own private properties.
