Endo Jaeger started this petition to NBC

Laurie conveys such amazing empathy, poise, and enthusiasm as a broadcaster and former Olympian. Her inclusion within NBC's Olympic broadcast team (at the very least for Tokyo) would help build a bridge between the audience and the athletes but also give insight into the real lives of Team USA.

In contrast to the highly produced and forceful interviews that NBC currently does with gymnasts after their routines, Laurie would help build a natural and authentic conversation with her teammates. We've seen NBC unnecessarily push narratives of false rivalries (that have destroyed friendships), expose sensitive family situations, or make generalizations about athletes that under sell the work they've dedicated to this rigorous sport. Digital news producer for the Olympics, Nick McCarvel, adds that Laurie is, "already making the NBC broadcast better. More more more..." The sentiment is shared online as well. This would not only help us see the true spirit/personalities of Team USA but also help them convey their most authentic selves during (what's most likely) the largest media appearances of their lives!

That said, there are much more pressing and severe petitions on this site. While this is for a very light-hearted topic, if you find time sign this also consider signing some more urgent petitions to help out people around the world facing injustices.

PS: One way or another, Laurie ended up making an Olympic team heading to Tokyo ; )
