Enaction of government regulation regarding the development and implementation of AI

Currently, as it stands, there is little to nothing being done to control the development AI technologies. AI is quickly becoming an integral part of our lives, and its presence is steadily growing stronger. Whether it be driverless vehicles or the virtual home assistants such as Amazons Alexa, Google home or Apples Homepod, almost everyone has access to some form of AI. By 2030, if nothing is done, roughly 30% of all jobs will become at risk due to automation (PwC, 2018). If we as a society become proactive, instead of reactive we can potentially reduce the number of jobs lost through the enaction of federal legislation.
