Want to save Dippy for my grand children. Both my sons love dippy even now remember there childhood visits to the NHM.

This dinosaur has inspired may children I have taken to the museum as a teacher. It always gets big wows even in today's age of technology. Something awesome that children need to use their imagination to visualise. Keep dippy inspiring the nation.

Dippy was a source of great excitement to me as a child, and I cannot imagine a whale making the same kind of everlasting impression on a child as Dippy did for me. It was not just his size, but the fact that here was evidence that creatures once roamed this earth that were quite unlike any that are here today. There is no way that a whale can have this effect.

I spent hundreds of hours in the natural history museum as a boy & always spent a few minutes looking with awe at this magnificent exhibit.
