I’m making this petition to get Benjamin Glidewell’s attention, a Chemistry teacher at Natomas High school to consider making an agreement with students. Us students have been having issues in his class and don’t feel like he’s doing the best at teaching through distanced learning. To begin with, he does not talk until at least 10-20 minutes into the zoom meetings and I feel like it just wastes time. He also has lack of communication where he does not respond to students emails, and grades homework quite different where the students have to struggle each time they do homework because of really wanting a good grade since the teacher will not tell them what the problem on the homework is. I, myself have dealt with the teacher and tried the very best to do my best in the class but have failed to succeed and feel like I can’t do anything to raise my grade since he doesn’t do extra credit as well. Us students have came up with an idea on how we think Mr. Glidewell can help us. 1. Please check your emails and chats on zoom! We have been trying to reach out to you!! 2. Please don’t forfully pick on someone when they don’t talk, they could be shy. 3. Please consider taking daily check ins off the exam weighting, we feel like it’s making our grade worse. I feel like a good way to help our problem with Mr. Glidewell is to raise enough awareness so he is a little less harsh on kids during social distanced leaning or if he doesn’t change anything to fire him because students are really tired and stressed and most of the stress comes from his class.
