According to the experts, it would cost approximately £7-8 Billion to Nationalise these utilities. They, the experts, also estimate this would ‘pay for itself’ within 7 years and benefit each of us @ £300.00 a year. It also means, and this is important, that money spent on these utilities actually stays in the UK, locally as well as nationwide. It is disheartening to see the fruits of our previous labours in building up these industries only to see the profits go out of the country, so an added benefit. We could also see further benefit from investing in fracking and Nuclear energy supply in this country undertaken by British Enterprise and investment ploughed back in to enable us to be almost, if not totally, self-sufficient, not held to ransom by anyone. We also currently import (2021 figures coal/coke/anthracite) 43% from Russia, 24% from USA and 11% from .. Australia. Total imports 4.6million tons. That leaves 22% from UK private companies. Consider that the other Utilities are also major imports, it shatters the Green argument about saving the planet and being taxed, so therein would be further benefits to us in the form of abolishing Green taxes, saving us £000.00’s more.
