The Missouri turkey population is dying, in 2000 there was 600,000 turkeys statewide, today there is roughly 350,000 if we don't take action now and do something about it in 15 years we will be lucky to even have 1,000 turkeys.

      Missouri used to draw in out of state hunters,tagged both birds each year. MDC needs to stop focusing on wild hogs,bear, and elk and bring back our turkeys. The lack of trappers, coon hunters, and multiple other factors play a big roll.

      We should be able to vote in and out the MDC and decisions that they make this is almost the last chance to save the Missouri turkey population. We need to focus on this for our youth I grew up with turkey hunting being life,now it's just a job trying to get 1 bird tagged when used to could tag both no problem.

     Time to step up and fix this not only for Missouri turkey hunters but for our youth all the up and coming that helps you out MDC. Stop out of state hunting for the wild turkey, start focusing on the real issues and stop being greedy with our money.

     It is a combination of multiple things but to get them to work on the population and fix it how it was is the goal they need to step up and take action if not for us for our youth!!!!!
