National Trust please don't airbrush Easter

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Each year the National Trust runs children's Easter Egg Hunts at many of their properties.

This year, after signing a sponsorship deal with Cadbury, the National Trust have dropped all mention of Easter from the name of their Egg Hunts; instead they will be called the Great British Egg Hunt.

Easter is a major Christian feast and a traditional holiday period in Britain; the National Trust is a significant custodian of our heritage, including our religious heritage.

We call on the National Trust to return to acknowledging our heritage; to return to the traditional name of 'Easter Egg Hunts'.

Of course being British we won't overreact to this situation. We won't threaten boycott of National Trust properties, that would be ridiculous.

Rather if the National Trust choose not to return to a proper name for their Easter Egg Hunts we, the undersigned, will not use National Trust cafes and gift shops until sense is seen.

That seems proportionate, doesn't it?
