People that have been convicted of a felony should be able to possess a firearm to protect them and their families on their own property only. After the said person has completed probation or a prison sentence whichever comes first, and it has been 5 years since they have completed probation/parole or prison/jail sentence, they should be able to own a firearm on their own private property. Just because someone has made a mistake in their lives does not mean that they should have the right to protect themselves and their family in their own home stripped away from them. Texas has a law like this and I think Arizona should follow suit. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives, some bigger than others. But we have a right as American citizens to protect ourselves, our families, our livelihood, and our property. I believe that it is unconstitutional the strip someone's rights to bear arms on their own property. I hope that people will listen and sign this petition to give Americans the freedom to protect themselves and their families. It is the right to do so in this great nation. Hi care very much about this petition because I once made mistakes in my life that has taken away my gun rights. It has been 9 years since I have been in trouble with the law and feel that I am fully rehabilitated. I now have a great job and a wonderful wife and daughter that I think I have the right to protect in my own home. I hope there are others that feel the same and will read and sign this petition to make this happen.
