National Prostate Cancer Screening for all men over 50

National Prostate Cancer Screening for all men over 50
Why this petition matters

My name is Colin France and I am 52 year man recently diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Cancer.
I was extremely lucky that my GP and the practice nurse sent me for a blood test and re test when my PSA blood test came back 4.2 then 4.7.
I had no symptoms for Prostate Cancer so when I got the diagnosis I was shocked, to be honest even the hospital professionals said I was luck to be referred.
Lots of GP surgery do not carry out PSA blood test for men until they are over 60 years old...this would have been to late for me.
Prostate Cancer is more survivable if diagnosed early. I am currently just going through the final test before the doctors decide to follow a radiography or surgery treatment plan. I have a better chance of survival as I have been diagnosed early!
I believe the NHS should carry out National Screening Plans for PSA blood tests for all men over 50 years old. Similar to women with screening for Breast and Cervical Cancer.
Getting diagnosed with Prostate Cancer should not be down to luck
