Cylinder bottle exchange initiative to avoid Gas explosions in Ghana

The National Petroleum Authority (Ghana) begun measures to minimize gas explosions at various gas filling stations in the country. The move was to disallow LPG outlets to refill at their plants scattered across the country.
Instead, all cylinders will be filled by cylinder bottling plants for onward delivery to retail outlets (currently LPG refilling plants)across the country.
The implementation will remove all LPG stations from our neighborhoods, remove LPG tankers dangerously plying our roads day and night, thereby putting to an end to these horrific deaths of innocent citizens.
The above initiative was rescinded by government owing to pressure by stakeholders and industry players under the guise of job loses.
We are by this petition, asking government and its agencies (NPA EPA GNFS & T&CP) to fully implement the cylinder bottle exchange initiative on or before the next gas explosion , which is near you. You may be the next innocent victim.
