Several reasons. To Great britain naval sea power was instrumental in the history of this country & I have always felt it a crime that not more of the Royal navy's decommision ships have not been saved & turnt into museum ships. Being from Bristol I visited this ship as a child as my brother was a sea-cadet.

As a Bristolian and a Royal Navy enthusiast I think this unique ship should be preserved.

She is part of our heritage and my son has fond memories of her as a training vessel when he was in a school CCF

I was a seaman in the sea cadets and Royal Naval Reserves and had many great trips on HMS Montrose based in Dundee.
