Precipitous cord clamping compromises babies by depriving them of a third of their blood. Optimal (better term then delayed) cord clamping is no longer advicating an unresearched procedure that compromises babies.

Rh-
Much evidence suggests early clamping can cause problems and delayed clamping causes significant benefits

Upon writing our birth plan last week my midwife didn't give us the option I was told I had to have the injection to speed up placenta delivery. But due to stranding a Hypnobirthing course and research we were informed of delayed cord clamping which I have informed my midwife that we feel strongly about delayed cord clamping to which she was only giving the negatives to mam which I felt was trying to scare us into changing our mind. Not a lot of people know about delayed cord clamping and that they can opt to have this
