On November 13th 2016, the popular Bengali daily, Anandabazaar Patrika published an advertisement that was derogatory. It directly attacks the dignity of women.

The content of the advertisement read as following:

" Come to Purulia In Winter

4 nights 5 days package

Satyajit Ray's Jaichandi Hills, Garhpanchkot Palace's scintillating history, the waterfall and hydro-power plant of Ayodhya Hills, Barstir's sunset accompanied by the Chhau dance and 'the impetuous youth of Santhal women." Hotel, food, conveyance inclusive of site-seeing, cost per head INR 9990 (AC) and INR 8880 (Non AC). Visit to Jain site Paakbidra, Telkupi, Banda, Deulghata, and the beautiful forest Bandoyan available on demand.

Contact travellers: 9732933119/ 7872967014/ 7001630398"

The content of the ad is offensive and impacts the dignity of women irrespective of caste, creed, society and region. Anandabazaar Patrika must apologize for publishing such an insulting advertisement and must also help the citizens in identifying the people who shared such a belittling message.
