For many families, when a loved one becomes terminally ill, they want to keep them alive for as long as possible. This can be done with medications, treatments, clinical trials, or a combination of those. There comes a point when prolonging one's life takes away from the quality of life that they have left.
Hospice care patients should remain as autonomous as possible, as they should have the right to dictate their end of life care. Even if it means a shorter amount left of their life, it is important that the time they have is spent in the way they choose.
We are asking for awareness and support of hospice care patients quality of life compared to quantity.
