Road safety and precautions on Hubli Bangalore Highway

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

On April 2nd 2017 morning our family was returning from a happy vacation in Goa. 50KMs from Hubli the car went out of control, the road was uneven say the police. As the car got dragged off to the left of the road there was a steep drop of atleast 20ft. There is no barricade despite the fact that there is such a steep ditch. There are signs on the road that say it's an accident prone zone but nothing else. Our car somersaulted twice as it fell into the ditch. My husband and I were in the front seat wearing our seat belts but we lost my husband's parents in this accident as they were thrown around in the car and had fatal head injuries.

I want to bring two changes:

1. Make seat belts compulsory for all seats

2. Enhance road safety by building barricades along steep ditches.

3. Ensure national highways are of international standards.

The family involved could be yours tomorrow. Trust me I would not wish what we have gone through on anyone. But unless these changes are implemented accidents would continue on this stretch. The day we met with an accident there were 4 other accidents and atleast 4 more deaths. We need to act fast and stay together to make this change happen.
