Stop the Southall Gas Tower from being dismantled

The local council is trying to dismantle the Southall Gas Tower, which has been a landmark of Southall since the 1930's when it was first built, to make space for more housing. Instead of dismantling it, they could either preserve it as a historical site or convert it into "The Gas Tower Hotel", a museum or anything useful that preserves the nature of the site.
It is recognised by many thousands of people, close and far, as a waypoint to southall. When people think of Southall, the first thing that springs to mind for many is the Blue Gas Tower. Many people who have grown up in Southall appreciate the Gas tower on a daily basis, it has featured in many local movies such as Bend It Like Beckham and can be spotted by anyone who is landing in Heathrow Airport.
Please help us preserve this landmark and stop it being dismantled by signing and sharing the petition!
