In the very early 1900s Hockey became a popular sport in Canada. It was loved because of the rough and tough mentality, how fast the game was and how there was action everywhere. Womens hockey started basically at the same time because girls wanted to play the sport before it was officially invented to the game it is now. The whole world began to fall in love with this game and is still in love with it today. Why not keep the history of the sport with Body Checking. Back then there were no pads and they would still check and fight now there is so much technology in the equipment to prevent injuries and they take away checking. I believe that girls should get the same opportunity as the boys. With girls not checking it pretty much justifies why everyone says girls are less tough. Body checking accounts for half the exitement in the sport so why take it out. It's hockey, not girls and boys hockey but hockey. Please sign this to get checking back into the sport of hockey. The game shouldn't be different because of whose playing it.
