I am type2 insulin dependent, and a pensioner, so I can't afford an insulin pump even if they were available to me.

Diabetes is diabetes, whether youre Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2 or whatever. If you need insulin, you need insulin...if tablets dont cut the mustard, there is only insulin left and believe me, it works. I am on 6-7 injections daily...a pump would be a godsend. Without subsidy for consumables, it is out of the question. It is a constant battle to stay within an acceptable range...I dont always get it right. Im not afraid of injections but pump therapy would make my life so much easier both mentally and physically. I feel Type 2's are being discriminated against for pump therapy because of no subsidy available for the consumables. It is unaffordable without the subsidy. Surely we are just as deserving as Type 1.
