Protecting Injured College Athletes from Losing Scholarship Funds

The problem I am trying to solve is the controversy over paying college athletes.  I believe the more important issue is to protect the athlete from any loss of scholarship funding due to an injury that interferes with their ability to play the sport for which they received the scholarship.  I watch these College Football Bowl Games and the NCAA Basketball Tournament, and see the revenue generated to the NCAA, and Universities/Colleges, but what about the athlete.  The athletes reward is their college education/degree, but for many that ends if they cannot play the sport due to an injury.  What happens to their education?  This impacts high school athletes that perform their best and our recruited via a full scholarship to a top-notch school, and then gets injured and can no longer afford to be at the college/university.  I want to see the NCAA enforce a policy change at the University/College level in Division 1 schools to insure their athletes on scholarship with a disability insurance plan to cover the costs of their education should the athlete be injured and no longer able to play the sport at the Division 1 level and remain in school.
