Throughout its rich and abundant history the state of Louisiana and the great city of New Orleans has been known for its undeniable appreciation and influence for music. As one walks the streets of New Orleans, they are overcome by the city defining sounds of live music, most of which is live-performed Jazz. Due to this cultural significance and history of the Jazz genre I feel it as an abomination that the NBA team name the “Jazz” should be in the state of Utah. Although Utah is a great state in its own right, it has had very little interest or influence in the genre of Jazz music. It is because of this, my dear fellow fans of basketball, and appreciators of musical history and culture, implore you to take a stand with me to transfer the Jazz name to where it so rightfully belongs.
