Educate students on what to do during specific situations with active shooters

In the wake of the numerous school shootings that have occurred recently, many students at OPRF are left wondering what they would do in situations where there is an active shooter and the students are not in their classrooms. We have lock down drills very infrequently, and always with warning, so all students are in their classrooms. Because of this, students are unsure what they would do if they were in a bathroom, cafeteria, or hallway during either a class period or passing period. Because the Parkland shooter pulled the fire alarm and students and faculty were in the hallway, it would be very helpful for OPRF students and faculty to know and rehearse what to do in a similar circumstance. While I would love for the issue to go away and for there to be much stronger gun control, I would rather have myself and my fellow classmates prepared if something were to happen, instead of waiting for a change in laws that may or may not occur.
