Georgia Relief and Recovery Efforts for Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
The White House has declared the Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands "disaster zones" following the onslaught of Hurrican Irma and Hurrican Maria impacting more than 4 million Americans. Roads are flooded, communications are crippled, buildings are decimated, food and water are scarce, and thousands have been displaced.
Georgia must stand with Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
- Urge Congress to approve a commensurate aid package for Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.
- Engage Georgia leading civic and business organizations to establish a public foundation that will make grants to local charitable organizations in Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands that are helping with recovery and rebuilding.
- Establish sites across the state to drop off goods for donation to be delivered to the Governments of Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.
Georgia can help in Hurricane Irma and Hurrican Maria rescue and recovery operations in Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.
Please ask Georgia leaders to act now and support these efforts:
Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal
Atlanta Mayor, Kasim Reed
US Senator, Johnny Isakson
US Representative, John Lewis
