To support local veteran trees of Hafod

Petition to save and support local veteran trees of Hafod.
HAFOD is 12 miles south-east of Aberystwyth, recognised as one of the finest examples in Europe of a Picturesque landscape. Today the Hafod estate occupies some 200 hectares of the Ystwyth valley and surrounding hills. Most is owned by Natural Resources Wales who, in partnership with the Hafod Trust, is managing a conservation and restoration project with public and private funding.
This particular beautiful old beech tree is about to be cut down……for health and safety purposes…i’m told ! (The tree is approximately 500metres from the second cattle grid after the mansion site on the right hand side near the river that travels under the track.)
Many of the veteran trees here are in desperate need of our help to support their longevity, health, wisdom and biodiversity. This tree has grace and beauty…..ancient legend describes her as ‘Mother of the Woods’.
Beech trees are our great allies when we need to find our sense of place and belonging. They teach us to slow down, to absorb and deepen our understanding of the knowledge we have gained and to live our lives in co-operation with the trees for the sustainable future of our Earths home.
This is the time to honour their presence.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION if you want to help save Hafod’s Ancient trees.
