To Whom It May Concern,

A majority of public buildings in the world do not dispose of their trash in an environmentally friendly way. Making a change in how we do this, can make the world a better place for our future generations.

We are PowerFuels, an NY-based non-profit research group at Jericho High School. We are trying to protect the Earth by spreading awareness and promoting the use of a diversified trash and bio-based energy systems that have the potential to reduce the size of toxic landfills, protect bodies of water, and the air from harmful pollution, and eventually stop the onset of climate change across the world.

We wanted to start small. We want the food waste produced in every public facility in Nassau County, Long Island, to be sent to organizations that use it to make alternative, renewable biofuels instead of being deposited in landfills for centuries. We believe that once Nassau County makes this change, other counties and maybe other states, then nations, would do the same in creating a chain reaction to reduce the amount of trash in our lands fills to produce a more eco-friendly fuel source for electricity and cars.

We believe that an initiative that makes it mandatory to dispose of waste materials into biofuels is necessary for this world is piling with trash and is being depleted of energy sources.

We believe that YOU can help. This is a small change that can make a massive impact on our world. We hope that you will make this one of your top priorities and help us repair the damage made to the environment to make life better for future generations and hopefully for us.

Thank you for your time,
